How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first experience/WOD? I first heard about CrossFit from a college friend. She wouldn’t party with me because she had some “Whole 30 Challenge” that I didn’t understand. I get it now. My first experience was crucial. I didn’t know what to expect but it was certainly challenging. Nonetheless, I was hooked after my first WOD because I performed so poorly.
When did you first come to CrossFit NOLA? February 2013.
What is your proudest CrossFit accomplishment? Winning 1st place in the Whole Life Challenge was pleasing. However, I was able to accomplish a few personal goals through the accountability measures of the Whole Life Challenge. I am happier about meeting those goals more than anything.
If there was any CrossFit movement that you could choose to never do again, what would it be? I think burpees should be banned from the CrossFit lexicon. I hate them with a passion.
After a hard workout, what is your favorite meal? I mostly eat veggie omelets or fruit in the morning after I workout.
On a Saturday night, where could we typically find you? Usually, you can find me all over the city. I love the New Orleans nightlife (perhaps a little too much). But I do spend quite a bit of time at the movies on Saturdays as well.
What is one goal that you are currently working on that you will accomplish before the end of 2013? I would like to stay consistent throughout the year. The diet aspect is the most difficult for me. I would be satisfied if I could maintain a healthy diet throughout the rest of the year.
What do you like best about Crossfit and Crossfit NOLA? I love that everyone is very focused on getting better. That desire to improve inspires me to work harder. I think the crowd always knows something.
Anything else you would like to add? CrossFit has been a game changer for me. I now pay attention to every move I make nutrition wise. I have learned that every meal counts and staying active goes a long way. I am always looking forward to the next challenge and CrossFit has not disappointed me yet.
