Stephen Crim, one of our Mid-City members, sits on the board of
directors of Ride New Orleans, and he wants all of us at CrossFit NOLA
and CrossFit NOLA 504 (with our wide range of professional and civic
experience) to know that the organization is currently seeking new
board members.
Ride New Orleans formed in 2009 as the first alternative
transportation education and advocacy group in the State of Louisiana.
In 2011, Ride New Orleans received 501(c)3 status. Since January 2012,
Rachel Heiligman has served as Executive Director.
As a rapidly growing organization we need visionary leadership and
expertise to continue to thrive. As a director on our board, you’ll
work with our Executive Director and the rest of our active board, to
help shape the future of this dynamic and innovative non-profit. No
expertise or professional experience in transportation is required.
Our Board of Directors sets the strategic vision for Ride New Orleans
while supporting the organization to ensure that:
The general public and civic and business officials are informed
and engaged on transportation issues and best practices; decision-makers make wise investments in our transportation system that are based on sound research and analysis, best practices and
long-term public interest; and our transportation system is accessible and easy to use.
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to be a leader of Ride New
Orleans. Applications for Board seats are due Friday, January 18th.
See the application here.
